Echo Road by Amy Shelton (print, limited edition of 25)

£150.00Price

Ink drawing by Amy Shelton (2000)

from Angels & Animals, a limited edition book published by Maquette Press in 2000 consisting of 12 poems by John Burnside and a series of ink drawings by Amy Shelton. The poems animate a seasonal cycle and chain of being from animal to angel, taking the character of Lucretius (Roman philosopher/poet who wrote On the Nature of Things, a meditation on the natural world and man's responsibility to it) as the guiding spirit, with the human capacity to love as a central theme. The drawings allude to coastlines, hedgerows and the indeterminate flicks and movements that appear to us in our peripheral vision.

  • About our prints

All our limited edition prints are polymer gravure etchings editioned by master printmaker Simon Marsh on Somerset velvet white 300gsm paper.

Somerset® is a world leading traditional printmaking paper, cylinder mould made from 100% cotton to high archival standards at St Cuthberts Mill in Somerset.

St Cuthberts Mill is located on the banks of the River Axe, close to the river's source at Wookey Hole Caves. The River Axe provides a clean source of water for papermaking, naturally filtered through the limestone in the Mendip Hills. The water has the highest level of classification for cleanliness and biodiversity. No hazardous chemicals are released into the river from the papermaking process, and all materials are screened in the mill to ensure minimal environmental effect. Pulps are sourced from sustainable sources, and cotton linters are an annual crop and by-product from the textile industry.

All our limited edition prints have hand finished deckle (ragged) edges which are perfect for float framing.
